NHS Contraception Service

The pharmacy Contraception Service is an NHS service that allows pharmacists to supply oral contraceptive pills at the pharmacy without the need for an appointment with the GP.

Why should I use this service?

Accessing the pharmacy to receive a supply of oral contraceptives is convenient; you no longer need to book a GP appointment. We have private consultation rooms available, where the trained pharmacist will be on hand to answer any queries you may have and guide you through taking your oral contraception safely. The service is suitable for patients up to the age of 49 for the combined oral contraception, and up to the age of 54 for the progesterone-only pill.

We can initiate new oral contraceptives for women who have never taken them or have had a break, and issue repeat supplies of pills already initiated without the need for an appointment with the GP or nurse. Book an appointment at one of our pharmacies today!
